Dan focuses his practice in Estate and Trust litigation, including all areas of probate and chancery disputes: filing and defending against claims; citations to discover and to recover; will and trust contests and constructions; breach of fiduciary duty matters; contractual matters arising in probate estates; adult guardianship issues; recoverability of attorneys' fees in probate matters; trustee obligations and administration disputes; property ownership disputes including actions for partition, quiet title actions, and real estate ownership and transfer disputes; at the trial court and appellate levels, both bench and jury, with a general civil practice background.
Dan received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University in 1984 and his Juris Doctor from Loyola University School of Law in 1988. Dan is a current member of the Chicago Bar Association Probate Practice Committee, and has served as Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary of the overall CBA Probate Practice Committee (2000-2003); Chair of the CBA Executive Committee, Probate Practice (2002-2003); Member, Legislative Roundtable consisting of Chairs and Vice-Chairs of CBA Probate Practice, ISBA Trusts & Estates Section, and Corporate Fiduciaries, 2002-2003; Investigator, Chicago Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Committee, 2014 - present.
